Happy World Book Day from everyone at PARKWOOD.
World Book Day is always a very special day for us and usually we celebrate in school with lots of activities to support the love of reading.
This year we are presenting a special online event for the children to enjoy:
The Masked Reader.
On our website, the teachers have all recorded stories for the children to enjoy today – but can they identify who is reading ? Who’s behind the mask ?
You can find them here:
The masked readers will be revealed tonight.
There are also lots of ideas and activities on the World Book Day site for the children. Do have a look. Here is the link - https://www.worldbookday.com/
World Book Day always supports the access to books by providing a selection of £1 books for children. There is a super range of books this year – including Tom Fletcher’s There’s a wolf in your book, Luna Loves World Book Day and 20 Fantastic Football stories.
Full details are on the World Book Day site at https://www.worldbookday.com/books/
Children will all be given their £1 Book Day token on their return to school on Monday 8th March. We hope that you have a lovely day enjoying the stories and activities.
Thank you for your continued support in reading.
